The R965 is the women's version of the R9650. It is a Waterproof boot with a rubber bottom and a leather shaft. It features a Steel Toe, Electrical Hazard Protection, and has a Slip Resistant Outsole.

Electrical Hazard Protection is for workers who may come in contact with live circuits, wires or highly charged electrical equipment. It provides a secondary source of protection from electrical shock because of the insulating properties that stop a current from being grounded for a certain length of time. Such foot protection is provided under dry conditions and the insulating properties will deteriorate in wet environments and with wear.

Steel Toe Protection is to protect the toe area. Converse uses non corrosive metal and all steel toe footwear meet or exceed ASTM F2413-05 Standard for protective footwear.
